A Propane Fire Pit is the way to go for a Warmer Deck or Patio
If you have an outdoor area that tends to get neglected during the winter months you might be more inclined to use it if you had some way of heating the area to make it more comfortable. A traditional fire pit is a great idea but what if fire wood is scarce in your area or you don't particularly enjoy the cleanup and maintenance. A solution that is easy and mess free can be found in the form of the propane fire pit.
Propane fire pits come with many advantages over the traditional fire pit. The biggest advantage by far is that a portable propane fire pit doesn't require the use of wood. Propane is easy to transport and much cheaper than the equivalent amount of burning time from fire wood.
You will also feel safer knowing that your propane fire pit is not going to start any errant fires with flying sparks. Most people don't enjoy dodging the smoke from a wood fire and with a propane powered pit you won't have to. Without all the smoke a propane fire pit is excellent for using in the back yard. Neighbors won't have to complain about the smoke that the average fire produces.
You will need to take note of a couple of things when deciding on a fire pit. There are some models that don't include hoses or fittings so check to see exactly what comes in the box. Check the size of the fittings if you have to buy them separately as there are a couple of different sizes available. Get a hose that will be long enough to situate the tank a little way away from the heat and flames. Your tank is also less likely to get knocked over.
You also want to make sure you have sufficient warmth for a group of people so you need to take note of the heat output when deciding on a fire pit. A lot of propane fire pits are capable of 60,000 BTUs which is a good amount of heat. Most pits come with efficiency ratings as well so get the most efficient that you can afford. It's not a good idea to skimp on this as spending more at the time of purchase may save a bit on propane purchases in the future. Propane is cheaper than fire wood but you still don't want to use any more than you need to.
The weather is always changing so it's a good idea to get a fire pit that can adapt to your needs. Many good quality models come with adjustable flow rates and temperature control which can help you save on gas while keeping you at just the right temperature.
